This means stuff like defending your ideas in a discussion – or a letter to the editor in the newspaper. This could also mean acquiring the ability to be polite, or express disagreement without spooking your listeners. Or just organizing your ideas.
This is all about knowing what you are doing, so you stay confident and in control most or all of the time. If you have been improving your language skills, you will see your efforts justified. It is also a great way to see if you need to improve on them!
